Liberty Hall has been an icon of the Dublin skyline for over 50 years and the team at Projekt are currently engaged in a process to improve the aesthetics of the building over a phased period. We are delighted to announce that two of our recommendations have already been completed as follows.
1: Glass
The first phase saw the removal of the 1970’s mirrored glass effect from all 1,395 windows and replaced with a solar window tint. This material is see-through from the inside and reduces solar glare and ultraviolet transmission while presenting a neutral, reflection-free aspect. This has resulted in a consistent and more contemporary look from the outside.
2: Window Frames
For the second phase we designed and custom fabricated circa 900 window covers, powder coated to blend with the original 1960’s frames. These were fitted over the existing frames and installed from the outside by a team of abseilers using colour matching engineer approved fixings.
The result here has been both subtle yet effective. The upgrades have fully respected the legacy of the building’s architecture while giving it a more contemporary maintained appearance. A huge thank you to SIPTU for entrusting us with this prestigious one-off project which came with much responsibility.
